The Future of Health Care Marketing
Monday, September 28, 2009, 8:30 AM — 10:30 AM

Health Care is going through tremendous change. The economy demonstrated that the industry is not “recession proof” as demand for services declined for the first time since the mid-1990s. State and federal budget challenges and a general call for health care reform are further changing the environment that health care delivery is experiencing. How has this impacted thinking about marketing of health care services? Roger Green is Vice-President of Strategy, Policy, Marketing and Communications at HealthEast Care System in St. Paul. HealthEast includes three short-term acute hospitals, a long term acute care hospital, more than 100 primary care physicians in the HealthEast Clinics, medical transportation and home care. Most are focused on the East Metro Area but selected services have a regional and even national draw.

Mr. Green will discuss the organization’s experience with re-sizing its marketing efforts consistent with industry benchmarks, the challenges of measurement so critical to demonstrating organizational value in those investments and current efforts to more fully integrate the marketing efforts of multiple facilities and services. He brings this information in the context of more than 35 years of experience in Twin Cities health care marketing and planning. What will the future hold? Roger will offer some apparent themes that are likely to play out over the next three to five years.

Who should attend? Marketing professionals who are interested in learning about how an experienced executive handled the challenge of a down economy and demonstrated successful tactics to still attain benchmarks for quality and ROI. Those in the healthcare industry will certainly be intrigued but whether you are involved with healthcare or not, this presentation will offer thoughtful insights and predictions by a respected marketer who has participated in many marketing and business trends throughout his career.
