Marketing Mixer: Speed Networking

Why meet only a few people at a marketing event when you could meet up to 18 – or even more? With Speed Networking, you could meet more people in one evening than in a month of networking events. Plus, it’s easy, and it’s fun.

How does Speed Networking work? It’s simple. You start at one table, chatting with an industry peer for five minutes. You look for a potential connection between you and the individual. You’re free to give your 30-second pitch, listen to the other person’s pitch, talk in general and exchange contact information. At the end of five minutes, you move to a different table and person. You could meet face-to-face with up to 18 different people, gaining a richer and more extensive network in less time than traditional networking.

Even if there’s not a direct connection between you and some of the individuals you speak with, you could potentially expand your network of business friends and referral sources. So why not try it?

Some Speed Networking tips:

·         Think about how you can help the individual you’re speaking with. Speed Networking should be mutually beneficial.

·         Jot information down. You’ll be meeting with a number of people very quickly, and you won’t want to confuse one person with another.

·         Ask for a business card. And send each person you meet a note or email after the event.

Improvements we’ve made to this Speed Networking event:

·         The actual Speed Networking session has been expanded from 1 hour to 1.5 hours. So you’ll meet even more people than before.

·         Tables will be clearly marked, so you’ll know which table to move to next.

·         There’s more time after the event to casually network with the people you meet – or didn’t meet – during the Speed Networking session.

Our Speed Networking event in January was one of our most popular Marketing Mixers ever. Come see why – register today!
