Panelist Profiles

Mark Hansberry
is the VP of Strategy and Communications at Fairview Health Services, a community-based health care system providing a complete range of services, from prevention of illness and injury to care for the most complex medical conditions. Mark leads business and marketing planning that supports Fairview’s position for strategic growth. He focuses on improving organizational performance through effective brand management. Mark’s areas of responsibility include strategy, marketing and public relations, internal communications, community health, Fairview Press, National Institute on Media on the Family, Spiritual Health Services and Clinical Pastoral Education. Prior to joining Fairview in 2002, Mark was the marketing director at Children’s Hospital Boston where he led the development and execution of an integrated branding strategy for the hospital and 35 franchises. He also led market share, patient volume and product development initiatives at Advocate Health Care in Chicago.
Since 1993

Deneen Law has worked for Guidant, 3M and Boston Scientific where her roles have included product manager, market development manager, marketing operations manager and design for Six Sigma Black Belt among others.  In her current position as the director of marketing strategy and analysis for the cardiovascular business at Boston Scientific, she directs a team of marketing managers through the design, execution and interpretation of market research and other analysis that contribute to high impact marketing strategies. She and her team partner with the business leaders to identify growth opportunities; diagnose customer needs and behavior; understand competitive dynamics; test pricing, positioning, and messaging strategies. Boston Scientific is a worldwide developer, manufacturer and marketer of medical devices with approximately 25,000 employees and revenue of $8.3 billion in 2007. For more than 25 years, Boston Scientific has advanced the practice of less-invasive medicine by providing a broad and deep portfolio of innovative products, technologies and services across a wide range of medical specialties.  The Company's products help physicians and other medical professionals improve their patients' quality of life by providing alternatives to surgery.

Sara Oxton has worked in medical device marketing for 10 years.  She joined Otto Bock Healthcare in 2000 where her roles included downstream Market Manager, Global Product Manager and Business Development Manager for Latin America.  She joined Empi in 2007 as Senior Brand Manager for their dysphagia rehabilitation portfolio.  In 2009, she began working with Uroplasty as a Business Development Consultant focusing on portfolio expansion strategies for the company.  Prior to working in the medical device sector, Sara spent 11 years working in non-profits as Company Manager for Ethnic Dance Theatre, Managing Director for James Sewell Ballet and Associate Director of Alumni Relations at the Carlson School of Management.  Sara has a proven track record in establishing and growing new business ventures and brands.  She is very comfortable working in international settings and has expertise in a number of product categories-post masectomy, orthotics, custom orthopedic seating and positioning, mobility for special needs kids, DME, NMES for swallowing therapy, urinary incontinence and porthetics.  She has a B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota in Spanish and Art History and an M.B.A. from the Carlson School of Management.  Sara also volunteers for KFAI in Minneapolis where she hosts a weekly radio show.

Nina Hale
founded her agency in 2005 after specializing in internet marketing since 2000 and new media since 1989. Nina holds an MBA from the Carlson School of Management and a B.A. from Brown University. With over 40 active clients, including Medtronic, Starkey, VitalStim and Hazelden, Nina Hale Consulting is one of the foremost agencies for search engine marketing in the Twin Cities. The company plan, executes and manages comprehensive pay-per-click (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO) projects for companies and for agencies on behalf of their clients.

Jane Bungum provides user experience consulting services to Fortune 500 companies, start-up firms and non-profit organizations through her company, User Strategies Group, LLC, which has strong expertise in user research, information architecture and usability evaluation. Her company has expertise in working with specialized user groups including children and students, users with medical conditions and high-end professionals such as physicians.  She uses the latest user experience methods and tools to understand both user attitudes and behaviors. User Strategies Group was recently recognized by the Minnesota High Tech Association for their user research work on CareerOneStop.org a career management and jobs web site funded by the Department of Labor.  Jane has presented at The Minnesota Government IT Symposium, MinneWebCon, the Minnesota Counties Computing Cooperative, the Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association and the University of St. Thomas.
